MW4 Monster Energy Hidden Reward: All 6 Rewards and the 161 Code Tier
By Luke Setzer · Updated 9/8/2026
The MW4 Monster Energy hidden reward is the sixth item on the reward ladder, which Monster calls the Mystery Item. Every qualifying can is one point plus 15 minutes of Double XP, and the first six points unlock the six rewards. A second hidden reward sits at code 161, the per-account maximum, as a DLC code with no announced drop date.
What is the MW4 Monster Energy hidden reward?
The hidden reward is the sixth item on the Monster Energy x Modern Warfare 4 reward ladder. Monster's own wording calls it the Mystery Item. Players call it the hidden reward, the secret reward or the locked reward, and they all mean the same thing: reward number six, which Monster reveals later in the promotion.
There is a second one, and this is where nearly everyone gets confused. A separate hidden reward sits right at the top of the ladder, at code 161. That one is a DLC code for its own Mystery Item, and it is not the same item as reward six.
So: two hidden rewards. One at six cans, one at 161.
How the Monster Energy points ladder works
This is the part that is worth understanding before you buy anything, because the cosmetics and the Double XP work on two different tracks.
Every qualifying can carries one point and 15 minutes of Double XP.
- The points unlock the cosmetics. The first six points each unlock one reward.
- The Double XP just stacks. It keeps accumulating past point six, all the way to the 40 hour cap, which lands at 160 codes.
- Code 161 is the top of the ladder and earns the second hidden reward as a DLC code.
That is also why the ladder ends where it does. 161 is the maximum the promotion allows per account, so there is nothing above it to chase.
All six Monster Energy rewards in order
| Point | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Large Decal "Tagged" |
| 2 | Weapon Blueprint "Green Light" |
| 3 | Operator Skin "OG Green" |
| 4 | Weapon Blueprint "Canned" |
| 5 | Operator Skin "Zero Chill" |
| 6 | The hidden reward, revealed later in the promotion |
Six cans, six tabs, six codes, six rewards. If your goal is the cosmetics and nothing else, six is your number and everything past that is Double XP.
How many Monster Energy cans do you actually need?
Depends what you are after, and the honest answer splits three ways.
- Just the cosmetics, hidden reward included: six cans.
- Maxed Double XP: 160 cans. At 15 minutes each that is the full 40 hours.
- Everything, including the top tier hidden reward: 161 cans.
Worth sitting with that middle number for a second. 160 cans of energy drink to max the Double XP is not a realistic amount of caffeine for one person, and that is before you find 160 marked cans in stock near you.
The second hidden reward at 161
The 161st code earns a DLC code for a separate Mystery Item. Two things about it:
First, it is not redeemed on the spot. Monster has not announced when that item drops, so the code sits with you until they do. Anyone telling you a specific date for that reveal is guessing, and you should treat the claim accordingly.
Second, it is genuinely the ceiling. 161 is the per-account maximum, so once you have it there is nothing further in the promotion to unlock.
Which Monster cans count
The promotion runs on 16 oz cans of:
- Monster Energy Original
- Monster Energy Zero Sugar
- Monster Energy Zero Ultra
The code sits under the ring-pull tab, and some cans use a QR code you scan instead. Regional stock is the real problem here: the marked cans are a limited promotional print, and plenty of countries never got them at all, even though the rewards themselves work worldwide on any platform.
The dates that matter
- September 1, 2026: the promotion started and the marked cans went on sale.
- October 23, 2026: Modern Warfare 4 launches. Your Double XP goes to work and the cosmetics land on your account.
- March 31, 2027: the promotion ends, no new points after that.
- April 30, 2027: the last day codes stay redeemable. After that they expire.
There is no announced date for either hidden reward reveal. When Monster says something official, we will update this page.
Can you skip the cans?
You can, and for most people outside the US that is the only realistic route. The rewards are tied to your Activision account, not to where the can was bought, so a code works the same wherever you are.
We sell the codes directly: MW4 Monster Energy codes. Six codes covers the full cosmetic tier including the hidden reward, and there is a 161 option for the complete promotion if you want the top tier too. No store run, no scanning tabs, and no drinking your way through 161 energy drinks.
If you want the redemption walkthrough instead, that is in our guide on how to get and redeem the MW4 Monster Energy codes. For what landed when the rewards went live, see the news post on the MW4 Monster Energy rewards.
What to spend the Double XP on
Double XP is only worth what you point it at. Most people bank it for the launch rush, and it stacks with anything you are already doing: MW4 account leveling, the MW4 battle pass, or weapon levels through MW4 weapon leveling. If you would rather farm it yourself in a soft lobby, an active 2XP window plus MW4 bot lobbies is the fastest honest combination there is.
FAQ
What is the MW4 Monster Energy hidden reward?
It is the sixth reward on the Monster Energy ladder. Monster calls it the Mystery Item and reveals it later in the promotion. A second, separate hidden reward sits at code 161 and comes as a DLC code with a drop date Monster has not announced yet.
How many Monster Energy cans do you need for the hidden reward?
Six. Every qualifying can carries one point, and the first six points each unlock one reward, with the hidden reward as number six. Everything past six cans only adds Double XP, until code 161.
What do you get for 161 Monster Energy codes?
The complete promotion: all six cosmetic rewards, the full 40 hours of Double XP, and the 161st code that earns a separate top tier hidden reward as a DLC code. 161 is also the maximum the promotion allows per account.
How much Double XP does one Monster Energy code give?
15 minutes per code, alongside one point toward the rewards. The Double XP stacks up to a 40 hour cap per account, which works out at 160 codes.
Which Monster drinks count for the Call of Duty promotion?
The 16 oz cans of Monster Energy Original, Zero Sugar and Zero Ultra. The code is under the ring-pull tab, and some cans use a QR code you scan instead.
When is the MW4 Monster hidden reward revealed?
Monster has not announced a date for either hidden reward. Reward six is revealed later in the promotion, and the 161st code item drops on a date Monster has yet to confirm. Anyone quoting you a specific date is guessing.
How long does the Monster Energy Call of Duty promotion run?
The promotion runs from September 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027, and codes stay redeemable until April 30, 2027. Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026, in the middle of that window.
Can you get the Monster rewards without buying cans?
Yes. The rewards are tied to your Activision account rather than to where the can was bought, so a code works the same anywhere. That matters because the marked cans are a limited print and many countries never got them.
