What are Special camos in MW4?
Every MW4 weapon has 14 camos in its ladder: 8 Military camos for weapon levels, 3 Special camos, then Gold, Platinum and Harmonic Break, with Divergence on top. The Special camos are named per gun, and each one has two gates: a weapon level that opens it, then a challenge.

Levels and challenges differ per gun. Every camo also has a DMZ challenge, and either one unlocks it.

What are Special camos in MW4?
Every weapon has three Special camos of its own, between the 8 Military camos and Gold. Each one opens at a weapon level and then asks for a challenge. On the Han 86, for example, Smoke opens at level 25 (20 kills while mounted), Stormwave at 46 (50 kills with a silencer) and Red at 72 (3 kills without dying, 15 times).
Do I need the Special camos for Gold?
Yes. Gold only opens once all 8 Military and all 3 Special camos on that weapon are done. If you want Gold anyway, the MW4 Gold camo boost includes the Special camos.
Can I use a Special camo on other guns?
Yes. A finished Special camo goes into your shared camo pool, so it shows up for your other weapons too.
Do Special camo challenges count in DMZ?
Yes. Every camo has a Multiplayer and a DMZ challenge, and either one unlocks it. Tell us in the order notes if you want a gun done in one mode only.
Why is a maxed gun cheaper?
