MW4 Mastery Camos: All Multiplayer, Warzone & DMZ Camos

How the MW4 camo grind works

MW4 uses a shared camo progression across Multiplayer, Warzone and DMZ. You work a weapon's camos across those modes, and that opens into the mastery camos.

From there you have nine mastery camos in total: three for Multiplayer, three for Warzone and three for DMZ. On top of that there is a separate set of four Pyroclast camos.

The names are out from the beta reveal. The exact unlock challenges are not announced yet, and which single camo per mode is the very top pinnacle, versus the lower tiers on the way there like Gold and Diamond in older CoDs, is not fully nailed down. We will update this post as Activision confirms the details.

The nine mastery camos (plus the Pyroclast set)

Multiplayer

Pyroclast set

Four Pyroclast camos were shown as MW4's Prestige camos, a separate track from the nine mastery camos. Their exact Prestige milestones are not published yet, and Activision has not said whether weapon prestige or player prestige unlocks them. Returning names to watch

A few names come back from older Modern Warfare titles, redesigned for MW4:

• Polyatomic Reforged and Orion Reforged come back from MW2 (2022) and were shown under Multiplayer.
• Damascus Reforged brings back the MW 2019 Damascus name, shown under Warzone this time.

Old requirements are no guide here, MW4 has its own camo system.

What we actually know about unlocking them

Very little is locked in yet. Activision has shown the camos but not the challenge list, and not which tier each camo sits at. Activision has confirmed 33 weapons at launch, 22 of them already named. The exact conditions for each camo have not been announced. We will drop them into this post as soon as they are live, most likely around the October 23 launch.

Could you get them in the beta?

No, and that question is settled now. The camos were shown during the beta, but the full grind was never available in it. The beta has closed, and the real camo grind starts with the full game on October 23, 2026. Beta progress does not carry over either, so nothing was lost by skipping it.

Does MW4 have Gold and Diamond camos?

Not under those names. Gold and Diamond are the Black Ops ladder, and older Modern Warfare games ran Gold into Platinum into Polyatomic. The nine mastery camos Activision has actually named for Modern Warfare 4 are Mercurial Drift, Polyatomic Reforged and Orion Reforged in Multiplayer, Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros in Warzone, and Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio in DMZ. None of them is called Gold or Diamond.

What sits below them is still open. Every recent Call of Duty has base camos you clear per weapon before the mastery ones unlock, and MW4 almost certainly works the same way, but Activision has published neither the names nor the challenges. Anyone quoting you an MW4 Gold requirement today is guessing.
