How to Rank Up Fast in GTA Online, and How Progression Works in GTA 6

GTA Online rank comes from RP, and the fastest sources are heist finales, races and adversary modes in a full lobby, and repeatable contact missions. Time everything around Rockstar's weekly double RP window. GTA 6 has no online mode and no rank system announced, so there is no GTA 6 rank to grind at launch.
Rank in GTA Online comes from RP, reputation points, and it gates weapons, gear and jobs. Here is where RP actually comes from, and where people waste their evenings.

The RP sources that matter
Heist finales. The biggest single lumps in the game, RP on top of the cash. If you are already grinding heists for money you are ranking up as a side effect, which is the ideal situation.
Races and adversary modes, in a full lobby. This is the one most people underrate. RP scales with participants, so the same race in an eight player lobby is worth far more than in a three player one. Filling the lobby matters more than winning it.
Repeatable contact missions. Steady, predictable, no setup. The filler that keeps you moving between the bigger stuff.
Daily objectives. Small on their own, meaningful as a streak. If you log in anyway, do them.
The multiplier everyone ignores
Rockstar runs weekly bonus windows, rotating every Thursday, and they regularly include double RP on specific modes or activities. Grinding a normal week when the bonus week is three days away is the most common way people waste time in this game.
Check what is doubled, then grind that. It costs nothing and it is worth more than any route optimisation.
What rank actually gets you
Max rank is 8000, which is not a real target for anyone. The unlocks that change how you play arrive early, and past a few hundred you are ranking for the number. Worth knowing before you commit a month to it: if you want a specific unlock, look up which rank it needs and aim at that instead of at a round number.
Character stats are a separate system from rank. Strength, Stamina, Shooting, Stealth, Flying, Driving and Lung Capacity fill through use, and maxing them is its own grind with its own methods.
Ranking in GTA 6
Straight answer: there is no GTA 6 rank to grind.
GTA 6 launches 19 November 2026 as a single player game. Rank and RP are online systems, and there is no online mode. Rockstar has not announced one, has not named one, and has not given a date. Any page describing how to level up fast in GTA 6 is describing a system that does not exist yet.
What GTA 6 does have is single player progression of a different shape: a chapter based story, character appearance that changes with diet and exercise, and a Criminal Profile that tracks how you behave and feeds into how NPCs and the story react to you. That is not a rank bar and it is not something you farm. It is worth knowing that the marketing language of "leveling" simply does not map onto what shipped.
If Rockstar announces an online mode with progression, this page gets rewritten the same week. Until then we are not going to invent a grind for you.
Is it worth paying someone
For GTA Online: if you want a specific unlock and you are two hundred ranks away, a level boost, also sold as rank boost or RP boost, saves you the evenings. If you are chasing a big round number for its own sake, spend the money on something you will actually use.
Either way, the thing to check is how the RP is earned. Real jobs and real finales played by a real person is normal gameplay. Anything involving third party tools is how accounts get wiped.
For GTA 6: nothing to boost at launch, because there is no rank system. Our GTA 6 level page is a reservation for whenever an online mode exists, and we would rather say that than sell you a queue position for a fantasy.
