MW4 Prestige Master Icons: Every Legacy Set and Prestige Legend

Prestige Master is not the end of the road in Modern Warfare 4. It is the start of a thousand-level track, and what you get along the way is the prestige icons from every Call of Duty that came before.

How it works

Once you hit Prestige Master, the level counter keeps going to 1000. Every hundred levels unlocks a set of legacy prestige icons, and the game names them by prestige rank rather than by game: the first one is the Prestige 1 Icon Legacy Set.

That is nine sets of icons on the way up, and the Oni at the top.

What is actually in a set

The first set holds 33 icons, which is the whole point: these are the prestige 1 icons from across the series, sitting in one grid. Scroll it and you are looking at your own Call of Duty history, from the plain military ranks of the old games through the skulls and the hooded figures of the Black Ops era.

Two of the 33 are not legacy at all. They are new, and the game labels both as "Prestige Icon from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4":

• Prestige Master, the red and blue icon, unlocked at level 100 like the rest of the set.
• Prestige Legend, the golden Oni mask, which is the level 1000 reward.

Whether every one of the nine sets also holds exactly 33 icons is not confirmed yet. The first one does, and we update this page as the later sets get opened up.

Where to find it in the menu

Career, then Profile, then Prestige Master Icons. The reiters across the top are the level milestones, and a lock sits on every icon you have not earned yet, with the unlock condition spelled out on the right: reach level 100 to unlock.

Is it worth going for?

Depends what you want out of it. The icons are pure flex, they do nothing for your loadout, and nobody sees them unless they look at your card. But a level 1000 account with the Oni on it says one thing clearly, and it is the only thing in the game that says it.

The honest part: a thousand levels is a long way. MW4 weapon leveling and the camo grind run alongside it, so you are not only chasing the icon, but the account track itself is the slowest of the three.

What is not confirmed yet

• The XP curve. How much each hundred levels takes has not been published.
• The contents of sets 2 to 9. Only the first set has been shown in full.
• Whether the icons are account-wide or per-season. Nothing on that either way.
