BO7 Camo Costume Party: All 9 Haunting Event Camos and Every Challenge
By Luke Setzer · Updated 9/17/2026
The Camo Costume Party is Black Ops 7's Season 6 camo event, live since September 17. Nine camos, four of them animated: Oozed, Undergrowth, Gray Matter, Zombie Mai Tai and Patchwork, plus the animated Gravebloom, Grubs, Malignant and Death Row. You earn them with weapon class challenges, nine per mode, in Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame and Warzone, and finishing all nine classes in a mode gives that mode's animated camo. Any nine class challenges unlock the Arcblade melee weapon. Activision has not published an end date. GameRant reported the event runs 21 days and ends October 8 at 10 AM PT, so plan around that.
The Camo Costume Party is the camo event that arrived with The Haunting, Black Ops 7's Season 6, and it is the last big camo grind before Modern Warfare 4 lands on October 23. Nine camos, four of them animated, spread across all four modes, plus the Arcblade melee weapon on the side. Here is every camo, every challenge, and how much time is left.
What is the Camo Costume Party event?
It is a limited-time camo event that runs across Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame and Warzone at the same time. Each of those modes has nine weapon class challenges, one per weapon class, and the camos come from working through them. Activision's own advice in the Season 06 notes is to make sure you complete challenges from all four modes, because each mode has its own camos.
Season 06 went live on September 17 at 9 AM PT, and the event started with it.
All nine Camo Costume Party camos
| Camo | Type | Mode | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Undergrowth | Base | Endgame | Endgame weapon class challenges |
| Gravebloom | Animated | Endgame | All nine Endgame weapon class challenges |
| Gray Matter | Base | Multiplayer | Multiplayer weapon class challenges |
| Grubs | Animated | Multiplayer | All nine Multiplayer weapon class challenges |
| Zombie Mai Tai | Base | Zombies | Zombies weapon class challenges |
| Malignant | Animated | Zombies | All nine Zombies weapon class challenges |
| Patchwork | Base | Warzone | Warzone weapon class challenges |
| Death Row | Animated | Warzone | All nine Warzone weapon class challenges |
| Oozed | Base | All four modes | Not published. Expect it for finishing the whole event, see below |
That is the official list from Activision's Season 06 camo checklist, nine camos with four animated ones.
Our pick of the set: Malignant. The animated Zombies camo is the best looking one on offer here, and it is the one worth building your event around if you only have time for a single mode. Zombies also happens to be the mode with the longest challenges, which is exactly why most players never finish it.
How the unlocks actually work
Every mode uses the same nine weapon classes: Assault Rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, LMGs, Marksman Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Pistols, Launchers and Specials, and Melee. That makes 36 challenges in total across the four modes.
- Each mode has one base camo and one animated camo. Clear all nine weapon classes in a mode and you get that mode's animated camo: Gravebloom in Co-Op and Endgame, Grubs in Multiplayer, Malignant in Zombies, Death Row in Warzone. The event screen spells it out per mode, for example "Complete all 9 Zombies Camo Challenges to unlock", and each of those four camos also pays 10,000 XP.
- The animated camos are Universal. The event screen labels them "Universal camo: equip to any weapon", so once a mastery camo is yours it goes on any gun you carry, not just the class you earned it with.
- The four tabs in game are Co-Op & Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone. Each tab holds the same nine weapon classes and its own camo pair.
- The base camo comes from the class challenges themselves. Activision has not published the exact wording for MW-style per-class unlocks, but the identical Black Ops 7 event in February, Escalation Directive, handed you the mode's camo for a weapon class as soon as you finished that class's challenge. Expect the same here.
- There is a secret camo again, and nobody has seen it yet. Activision lists a ninth camo, Oozed, among the rewards but has not said how it unlocks or shown what it looks like. Both previous events in this format ended the same way: Escalation Directive in February hid Incandescence behind all 36 challenges, and Illicit Cargo in June hid Cherry Fizz behind them, worth 25,000 XP on top. So expect Oozed to be the full clear reward. We add a picture of it here as soon as the first player unlocks it.
- Progress looks mode by mode. In Escalation Directive, finishing a weapon class in one mode did not tick it off in another. Nothing says this event changed that, so plan on doing each mode separately.
The Arcblade melee weapon
The Arcblade is the other reward, and it is cheaper than a full camo set. The event screen puts it plainly: complete any nine event camo challenges and it is yours. That can be nine classes in one mode or nine picked across all four, whatever is quickest for you.
It is an event weapon, 30 levels, no attachments, and it has mastery badges like any other weapon. GameRant reported that the Arcblade becomes an Armory Unlock after the event, so the blade is the one reward here that is not gone for good on the deadline. The camos are.
What the four animated camos look like
Straight from the event screen, so you can see how each one moves before you sink nine challenges into it.
Malignant, the Zombies camo

Green and purple, marbled and lit from inside, like something alive under the metal. Our pick of the four.
Grubs, the Multiplayer camo

Pale worms crawling over the whole gun. It is the one people will either love or put straight back in the locker.
Gravebloom, the Co-Op and Endgame camo

Dark green growth with magenta skull faces breaking through it and lightning running along the edges.
Death Row, the Warzone camo

Rusted steel and cell bars, the coldest looking one in the set, and the fastest to earn because the Warzone challenges are the shortest.
Every Camo Costume Party challenge
Activision has not published the challenge list. The wording below is the list GameRant published on September 17, which is the only source that carries it, so check your own event tab in game before you commit to a long one.

How much time is left?
The event started on September 17 at 9 AM PT with Season 06. Activision has not published an end date on the blog or in either set of patch notes, but the countdown on the in-game event screen read 20 days and 20 hours late on September 17, which lands on October 8. GameRant reported the same, a 21 day run ending Thursday, October 8 at 10 AM PT. Plan around that date and do not leave the long Zombies challenges for the final weekend.
When it ends, the camos go with it. They are event exclusive cosmetics, so there is no catching up later. The Arcblade is the exception, GameRant reported it moves to the Armory once the event closes.
Do these camos carry into Modern Warfare 4?
No, and nothing suggests otherwise. Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, two weeks after the reported event end, and it brings its own camo progression with its own mastery camos. Treat the Costume Party set as Black Ops 7 and Warzone cosmetics.
Where to start if you want all nine
- Warzone has the shortest list on paper. Five sniper headshots, one bounty target with a pistol, three melee kills after a weapon switch. If you play Warzone anyway, Patchwork and Death Row are the fastest pair in the event.
- Zombies is where the big numbers go quickly, and it holds the best prize. The 500 eliminations, the 300 pistol kills and the 250 melee kills read brutal in Multiplayer terms, but targets never stop coming in Zombies, so these fall in a few long rounds rather than dozens of matches. Malignant is the camo at the end of it, and in our view the best one in the event.
- Multiplayer punishes the streak challenges. Kills without dying and kills without taking damage are the ones that stall, so bring a loadout you actually trust and play objective modes where you can hold a corner.
- Endgame needs specific targets. Guild Tech enemies, Fear enemies, Special and Elite kills, so read each challenge before you queue instead of hoping they tick along.
- Only want the Arcblade? Nine classes, any mix. Cherry-pick the nine shortest challenges across all four modes instead of clearing one mode.
Not grinding all four modes yourself?
Event camos are the one grind with a hard deadline, and that is exactly where people run out of time. Our BO7 Camo Costume Party unlock clears all four modes by hand before the deadline, or take a single mode: Warzone, Multiplayer, Zombies or Co-Op and Endgame. Every challenge is played in real lobbies by a verified pro, no unlock tools. Prefer to grind it yourself? Warzone bot lobbies make the Warzone challenges quicker.
FAQ
What are the BO7 Camo Costume Party camos?
Nine camos from the Black Ops 7 Season 6 event: Oozed, Undergrowth, Gray Matter, Zombie Mai Tai and Patchwork, plus four animated ones, Gravebloom, Grubs, Malignant and Death Row.
How do you unlock the Camo Costume Party camos?
By completing weapon class challenges in Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame and Warzone. Each mode has nine, one per weapon class, and clearing all nine in a mode unlocks that mode's animated camo.
How do you get the Oozed camo?
Activision lists Oozed among the nine event camos but has not published how it unlocks or what it looks like. The last two Black Ops 7 events of this format both hid a secret mastery camo behind all 36 challenges, Incandescence in February and Cherry Fizz in June, so expect the same here. We will show it as soon as the first player has it.
Which Camo Costume Party camo is the best?
Malignant, the animated Zombies camo, is our pick of the four. It is also the one that takes the longest to earn, because the Zombies challenges ask for the highest numbers in the event.
How do you unlock the Arcblade in Black Ops 7?
Complete challenges for any nine weapon classes during the Camo Costume Party event. They can come from one mode or from all four. After the event, GameRant reported the Arcblade becomes an Armory Unlock.
Are the Camo Costume Party camos universal?
The four animated mastery camos are. The in-game event screen labels them "Universal camo: equip to any weapon", so they go on any gun once you have them. Each one also pays 10,000 XP.
When does the Camo Costume Party event end?
Activision has not published an end date. GameRant reported the event runs 21 days from September 17 and ends on Thursday, October 8 at 10 AM PT.
Can you still get the camos after the event ends?
No. They are event exclusive cosmetics, so once the window closes they are gone. Only the Arcblade was reported to stay available as an Armory Unlock.
How many challenges are there in total?
Thirty six: nine weapon classes in each of the four modes. Assault Rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, LMGs, Marksman Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Pistols, Launchers and Specials, and Melee.
Does progress in one mode count toward another?
It did not in the February event, where each mode had its own camo set and its own challenges. Nothing says this event works differently, so plan on grinding each mode separately.
Do the Costume Party camos carry into Modern Warfare 4?
No source says they do. MW4 launches on October 23, after the reported end of the event, and it has its own camo progression.
Which platforms is the event on?
Black Ops 7 and Warzone on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. There is no Black Ops 7 version on Nintendo Switch 2.
