MW4 DMZ Cash: How to Earn It and What It Costs

By Luke Setzer · Updated 10/21/2026

In short

DMZ Cash pays for almost everything outside the raid itself: infil vehicles from 5,000 to 100,000, Lieutenant intel, MIA rescues priced by the downed operator Trait Points, and Operator Prestige at 200,000, 300,000 and then 500,000. It comes from missions, operations, Weapon Manuals at 5,000 each and plain looting, and none of it counts until you extract.

DMZ Cash is the currency that runs everything outside the raid. The prices are public enough to plan around, and they are steeper than most people expect on day one.

What cash actually costs you

What Price
Ground infil free
Polaris Dagor A1 infil 5,000
LTV infil 25,000
Helicopter infil 50,000
Cargo plane infil, drop where you choose 100,000
Operator Prestige, first 200,000
Operator Prestige, second 300,000
Operator Prestige, third 500,000

On top of those, cash buys weapons and attachments at the Gunsmith, stock at the Vendor, Lieutenant intel at the Boss Board, and MIA rescues. Rescue prices scale with the downed operator Trait Points, so a developed operator is genuinely expensive to recover, which is the trade you accept for building one.

Where the money comes from

  • Missions and operations. The main source. Dynamic Operations pay cash, XP and a Supply Drop, and Side Ops pay steadily without the drama.
  • Weapon Manuals, 5,000 each on exfil. Worth taking even for guns you will never use. How those work is in our Weapon Manuals guide.
  • Looting, properly. Not sprinting through buildings. The containers people skip are the ones still full.
  • Bounties. Hunting Wanted operators and extracting with their dog tags pays, and it takes some heat off you at the same time.

The rule that decides everything

You keep nothing you do not extract. Cash in your bag is not cash in your Wallet until the helicopter leaves. This is the single biggest difference between players who are always broke and players who are not, and it has very little to do with how well they shoot.

Practically, that means the question is never "can I take one more building", it is "is what I am carrying worth more than this raid is risky". A player who exfils at 60 percent capacity four times out of four ends the evening richer than one who dies at 100 percent twice.

A realistic first week

  1. Infil on the ground until you have a reason not to. A 50,000 helicopter is nine Weapon Manuals. It is almost never worth it early.
  2. Run Side Ops in Low threat districts while your kit is poor. Songdo Wharf, Mirae General Hospital and Deadtown are the quiet ones, per our Hajin map guide.
  3. Pick up every manual you see. 5,000 each adds up faster than looting rooms does.
  4. Leave early and often. Four short successful raids beat two long ones that end badly, every time.
  5. Do not save for Prestige until the operator is at 18 Trait Points. The reset is not available before that, so money set aside for it earlier is just money not being used.

Boost it or farm it yourself?

Cash farming is the most repeatable thing in DMZ, which is exactly why it is the one people get tired of first. If the number you need is 200,000 for a Prestige or 50,000 to stop walking, DMZ cash farms it in real raids. If the Prestige itself is the goal, Operator Prestige covers the rare items the reset consumes as well, which is the part the cash alone does not solve.

FAQ

How do you get DMZ Cash fast in MW4?

Missions and operations are the main source, Weapon Manuals pay 5,000 each on exfil, and thorough looting beats fast looting. The real multiplier is extracting: cash in your bag is not cash in your Wallet until the helicopter leaves.

How much does a helicopter infil cost in MW4 DMZ?

50,000 DMZ Cash. Ground infil is free, a Polaris Dagor A1 is 5,000, an LTV is 25,000 and a cargo plane with a drop point you choose is 100,000.

How much does Operator Prestige cost?

200,000 DMZ Cash for the first, 300,000 for the second and 500,000 for the third, plus rare gear that is consumed with it: two Rare weapons with three attachment slots each, a Rare plate carrier, a Rare backpack and four Rare printer ingredients.

What does an MIA rescue cost in MW4 DMZ?

It scales with the downed operator Trait Points, so there is no flat price. The more developed the operator, the bigger the bill, which is the trade you accept for building one up in the first place.

Do you keep DMZ Cash if you die?

Cash already in your Wallet is safe. Cash you are carrying out of a raid is not: you keep nothing you do not extract. That rule separates players who are always broke from players who are not, far more than aim does.
