MW4 DMZ Hajin Map: All 13 POIs and Threat Levels

By Luke Setzer · Updated 10/21/2026

In short

Hajin has 13 major points of interest and more than 60 named locations, each carrying a threat level from Low to Extreme. The level you see belongs to the district, not to every building in it: the 14th Political Prison reads High while the Citadel inside it is Critical, and Cheongun Village is Low while the Heavenly Luck Casino in it is High. Threat is not fixed either. It rises when you fight and call attention, and it falls again when you break contact and get out of sight. Songdo Wharf, Mirae General Hospital and the Deadtown exterior are the three quietest places to start.

Hajin has 13 major points of interest and more than 60 named locations. Every one of them carries a threat level from Low to Extreme, shown under the compass when you enter. Two things about that number are worth knowing before you plan a route, and most map guides skip both.

The two rules that make the threat levels make sense

1. The level belongs to the district, not to every building in it. This is why guides seem to contradict each other. The 14th Political Prison reads High, but the Citadel inside it is Critical. Cheongun Village is Low, and the Heavenly Luck Casino in the middle of it is High. Both readings are right. They are describing different things.

2. Threat is not fixed. It rises as you fight tougher enemies and as calls for reinforcements go out, and going loud in any way escalates the response. It also falls again: break contact, get to cover, stop shooting, and move towards open or rural ground, and the meter drops back down. An Extreme area is not permanently Extreme. It is Extreme while you are being noisy in it.

All 13 POIs and their threat levels

POI District The hot spot inside it
Songdo Wharf Low Turtle Island and Shoreline Station also Low
Mirae General Hospital Low none, the whole site is Low
Deadtown Low Re-Education Center, Medium
Imjin Farmland Low Rice Mill, Medium
Cheongun Village Low Heavenly Luck Casino, High
Cheonwang Peak Array Medium none
Wolves Stadium Medium open-air theatre, also Medium
Hajin River Heights Medium South Island and Jinseo Park Towers, also Medium
NuriGO Mall Medium east, High west the west half is the step up
Haneul Nuclear Reactor High the reactor itself, with radiation
14th Political Prison High the Citadel, Critical
Chang-san Air Base Critical the underground bunker, Extreme
The Grid Critical Nenshin Tech Complex, Extreme

So the two hardest rooms in Hajin are the Chang-san bunker and the Nenshin Tech Complex inside The Grid. Everything else tops out at Critical.

Threat and the Hunt Squad are two different systems

This catches people out. The threat level tracks the area. The Hostiles kill count tracks you. Fill it and the faction sends a Hunt Squad after you and marks you for elimination until you leave or die, and that happens whether the district around you reads Low or Extreme.

Human players are not on the threat meter at all. A Low area with three squads in it is still a Low area as far as the game is concerned, which is exactly how people die at Songdo Wharf.

How to move through a high-threat area without lighting it up

Melee, throwing knives and suppressed weapons get you through without raising the level. The moment you fire something unsuppressed, the area starts responding and keeps responding until you give it a reason to stop. If the meter is already up and you want it down, the fix is not more kills. It is distance, cover and silence.

A first route that does not get you killed

  1. Start Low. Songdo Wharf, Mirae General Hospital or the Deadtown exterior. Loot a backpack, plates and a weapon you can actually use before you go anywhere interesting.
  2. Take one Medium next. Imjin Farmland or Hajin River Heights. Both have real loot without a permanent firefight attached.
  3. Pick one named building, not a whole district. The Rice Mill at Imjin or the Re-Education Center at Deadtown are Medium pockets inside Low areas. That is the cheapest way to get a step up in loot quality.
  4. Leave the Critical pair alone until you have a kit. The Grid and Chang-san are not a progression gate, they are a loot tier. Going there with scavenged gear is how you end up MIA and paying to get an operator back.
  5. Plan the exfil before you need it. Green smoke marks the site and the twin-heli lands, with a Fulton balloon or a flare as alternates. The flare is loud and visible a long way off, so treat it as the option you take when the heli is not realistic.

What is in the places worth going

The Grid is the dense urban core: DBN Headquarters, Hanex Bank, Minsok Art School and a construction zone, all Critical, with the Nenshin Tech Complex at Extreme in the middle of it. Chang-san Air Base is Critical on the surface and Extreme underground. The 14th Political Prison is a fortress with the Citadel at its centre. Haneul Nuclear Reactor adds radiation on top of a High threat level, which is a different problem from being shot at.

The Russian border area is sealed at launch and arrives in a later season, so the fog wall there is not a bug.

Where the bosses are

Lieutenants are hired foreign fighters with their own weapons and dog tags, and Commanders are the heavy ones, including the Colossus. Intel on which Lieutenant is up comes from a Hunt Tower in the field or from the Boss Board at your FOB. The full roster and what each one drops is in our MW4 DMZ bosses guide.

If you would rather have the map learned for you

The honest version: Hajin takes a few deployments before the route planning stops being guesswork, and the expensive mistakes happen in that window. If you want the Boss Board cleared without that learning curve, that is Lieutenant boss hunts. If an operator is already MIA and the Wallet is empty, MIA rescue and DMZ cash cover it. FAQ

How many POIs are on the MW4 DMZ Hajin map?

13 major points of interest and more than 60 named locations in total. Each POI carries its own threat level from Low to Extreme, shown under the compass when you enter it.

What are the threat levels on the Hajin map?

Low at Songdo Wharf, Mirae General Hospital, Deadtown, Imjin Farmland and Cheongun Village. Medium at Cheonwang Peak Array, Wolves Stadium, Hajin River Heights and eastern NuriGO Mall. High at western NuriGO Mall, Haneul Nuclear Reactor and the 14th Political Prison. Critical at Chang-san Air Base and The Grid.

What is the hardest area in MW4 DMZ?

Two places rate Extreme: the underground bunker at Chang-san Air Base and the Nenshin Tech Complex inside The Grid. Both sit inside districts that are already Critical on the surface.

Why do Hajin threat levels differ between guides?

Because the level belongs to the district, not to every building inside it. The 14th Political Prison reads High while the Citadel inside it is Critical, and Cheongun Village is Low while the Heavenly Luck Casino in it is High. Both numbers are correct, they just describe different things.

Does the threat level change during a deployment?

Yes. It rises as you fight tougher enemies and reinforcements are called, and it falls when you break contact, get to cover, stop shooting and move towards open ground. Melee, throwing knives and suppressed weapons let you move through a hot area without raising it.

What is the Hunt Squad in MW4 DMZ?

A separate system from the threat meter. The Hostiles kill count tracks you rather than the area, and filling it sends an enemy Hunt Squad after you and marks you for elimination until you leave or die. It triggers in a Low district just as readily as a Critical one.

Where should I start on the Hajin map?

Songdo Wharf, Mirae General Hospital or the Deadtown exterior. All three are Low, and they let you put together a backpack, plates and a usable weapon before you commit to anything that shoots back properly.

Can you get to the Russian border in Hajin?

No. That area is sealed at launch and arrives in a later season, so the fog wall is intended rather than a bug.
