The MW4 beta is over. Early Access ran Aug 21 to 25, 2026 on Xbox, PS5 and PC with a beta key or a pre-order, and the Open Beta ran Aug 28 to Sep 1 for everyone, including Nintendo Switch 2. There is no beta access to get anymore. Digital pre-orders include campaign early access from October 16, and Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026.

What was MW4 beta access?
MW4 beta access let you play the Modern Warfare 4 beta before the full release on October 23, 2026. There were two windows, Early Access (Aug 21 to 25, 2026) and the Open Beta (Aug 28 to Sep 1, 2026). Early Access needed a Modern Warfare 4 beta key (also called a beta code) or a pre-order, and the Open Beta was open to everyone.

How people got an MW4 beta key
- Pre-ordering Modern Warfare 4. A pre-order of the game came with Early Access, the simplest route if you were buying MW4 anyway.
- Free giveaways. We gave away free MW4 beta keys in our Discord.
- Buying a key. Beta keys were also sold on their own until the beta closed.
How redeeming an MW4 beta code worked
- Sign in to your platform account (PSN, Xbox, or Battle.net / Steam on PC).
- Open the "redeem code" screen for your store.
- Enter the Modern Warfare 4 beta code.
- Download the beta and play once Early Access opened on August 21.
