Does the MW4 Nuke Give Any Rewards?
By Luke Setzer · Updated 10/25/2026
The MW4 nuke gives one reward: the Ground Zero calling card, in Free-for-All only. Nuke a team mode like TDM and you get nothing on your profile. The run is 30 kills in a row without dying, and finishing the streak is not the end of it: the nuke only counts if you call it in yourself before the match ends.
Yes, but only one, and only in one mode. A nuke in Modern Warfare 4 pays out the Ground Zero calling card, and it drops in Free-for-All only. Nuke a team mode like TDM or Domination and you get the killcam, the chat reaction, and nothing on your profile.
Does the MW4 nuke give a reward?
One reward, in one mode.
| Where you nuke | What you get |
|---|---|
| Free-for-All | The Ground Zero calling card |
| TDM, Domination, any other team mode | Nothing on your profile |
| Warzone | A different thing entirely, see below |
That is the whole list. No camo, no emblem, no XP bonus, no second card. If a video tells you the MW4 nuke unlocks more than that, check which mode they were playing.
What Ground Zero is
Ground Zero is a calling card, so it sits on your profile and shows next to your name. It is not a camo and it does not go on a weapon.
What makes it worth chasing is not the art. It is that almost nobody has one, because the only way to get it is the hardest streak in the game in the mode that gives you the least help.
What the FFA nuke actually takes
Here is the part most guides skip. The run is 30 kills in a row without dying, and getting there is only half the job. The match keeps going once your streak is done, and the nuke only counts if you call it in before the match ends. Finish the streak, sit on it, and you walk away with nothing.
A team mode gives you room on the way there. Teammates hold a spawn, pull attention, and trade with the people who would otherwise be shooting you, so a rough opening is survivable. Free-for-All takes all of that away. No teammates, no friendly side of the map, and everyone in the lobby hunting whoever is doing well.
Activision has not said why the card sits there and nowhere else. Difficulty is the obvious explanation, but that part is not confirmed.
What counts toward the 30
Same rule as anywhere in Modern Warfare 4: kills with your guns, your lethals and your field upgrade. Kills from your other killstreaks do not count toward the nuke, and one death at any point puts you back to zero.
For the method itself, which modes to pick and how to play the last ten kills, see how to get a nuke in MW4.
Can you get Ground Zero in a bot lobby?
Yes, and it is worth saying plainly because plenty of people assume otherwise. A bot lobby is a real online match, so progress and rewards land exactly like they do anywhere else.
The catch is not the reward, it is the account. Going for a nuke in a bot lobby can get an account shadow banned. That is true whoever is hosting, which is why nukes are against the rules in our ordinary MW4 bot lobbies. If you want to try it in a lobby built for it, that is the MW4 FFA bot lobby, one match per session, and the risk is exactly the same.
Is the Warzone nuke the same thing?
No, and they get mixed up constantly. The Warzone nuke is the Champion's Quest: win five games back to back, then assemble and detonate it in a match. Different requirement, different mode, different reward. That one has its own guide, how to get a nuke in Warzone.
Worth grinding, or worth skipping?
Depends what you want out of it. If you already win most of your Free-for-All lobbies, go for it. A 30-kill streak in Free-for-All is a good night on its own and the card is a bonus.
If you have tried it a few times and keep dying at 22, the honest read is that it is a long time sink with one calling card at the end. Our MW4 FFA nuke boost has a verified pro play it on your account and land Ground Zero for you, hand-played, no cheats or tools.
Honest answer on the account question: Activision's rules count boosting as a violation, and any penalty applies to the account no matter who played, so no shop can promise your account is safe. We keep every boost hand-played by a verified pro with no cheats, tools or bots, and if your order isn't delivered as described, you get your money back.
FAQ
Does the MW4 nuke give a reward?
One reward, the Ground Zero calling card, and only in Free-for-All. A nuke in Team Deathmatch, Domination or any other team mode gives you nothing on your profile.
What is the Ground Zero calling card?
The calling card you get for a nuke in Free-for-All in Modern Warfare 4. It is a profile item, not a camo, so it shows next to your name rather than on a weapon. It is currently the only thing the nuke pays out anywhere.
Why does only Free-for-All pay out?
Activision has not explained why. What is clear is that it is the hardest place to get one: no teammates to hold a spawn, and the streak has to be finished and then the nuke called in before the match ends.
Can you get Ground Zero in a bot lobby?
Yes. A bot lobby is a real online match, so the reward lands like it would anywhere else. The problem is the account, not the card: going for a nuke in a bot lobby can get an account shadow banned, which is why nukes are against the rules in our ordinary MW4 bot lobbies.
Is this the same as the Warzone nuke?
No. The Warzone nuke is the Champion’s Quest, which means winning five games back to back and then assembling and detonating it in a match. Different requirement, different mode, and it is not tied to Ground Zero.
