By Luke Setzer · Updated 8/25/2026
The Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta (Weekend 2) runs August 28 to September 1, 2026 and is open to everyone on all platforms. It raises the level cap to 30, unlocking the rest of the beta's weapons, perks, killstreaks and the final beta rewards, and it adds Call of Duty Warzone Resurgence on the new Zodiac map. Core maps include Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette and Lotus, plus Kill Block, and the new Inflation mode joins the list.
The Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, Weekend 2, opens the whole thing up. Weekend One was locked to pre-orders and beta codes; Weekend 2 lets anyone jump in, on any platform, with the level cap raised and Call of Duty Warzone joining the beta. Here is everything new in MW4 Open Beta Weekend 2: the maps, the modes, and everything that unlocks.
When is the MW4 Open Beta Weekend 2?
The Open Beta (Weekend 2) runs August 28 at 10:00 AM PT to September 1 at 10:00 AM PT. No pre-order needed, it is open to everyone on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Steam, Battle.net and Xbox on PC) and Nintendo Switch 2. If you played Weekend One, your install and progress carry straight over. For the exact start time in your region, see our MW4 Open Beta start time guide.
The MW4 beta maps
Weekend 2 opens the Core 6v6 map pool to everyone. Five to learn:
- Rooftops: the snow-covered rooftops of New York's Hotel Times West, elevated walkways and multiple routes to outmaneuver the enemy.
- Silkworm: a dense South Korean shopping district where storefronts, alleyways and apartments keep fights fast and unpredictable.
- Transit 213: an overgrown Indian bus depot split by rusting buses, concealed routes and long sightlines.
- Cachette: a hideout next to a French rail terminal, packed with shipping containers, rooftops and compact interiors built for constant flanking.
- Lotus: a battle-scarred Korean fishing village, narrow streets and burning buildings, close quarters to long sightlines.
On top of those, Kill Block is a new dynamic Gunfight space that reconfigures every two rounds into a fresh combo of three interconnected Slabs, with a randomized shared loadout each round. More Core maps rotate in through the beta and at launch.
New and returning modes
Weekend 2 runs six Core 6v6 modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy, and the new Inflation, where every elimination builds your fortune and turns you into a bigger target. Gunfight returns on Kill Block in classic 3v3 and a new 10v10 variant. Ground War: Combat Outpost brings the large-scale fight. More modes and playlists roll out across the weekend and at launch.
Everything that unlocks in Weekend 2 (level cap 30)
Weekend One capped you at Level 20. Weekend 2 raises the cap to 30, which opens:
- the rest of the beta arsenal: 19 Multiplayer weapons across nine classes, plus three more through the Campaign or default loadouts, 22 in total
- more Perks (18 in the beta), Killstreaks (17) and Equipment
- the final Beta Rewards, up to the Beta Forged weapon blueprint for the Han 86 at Level 30
Every Beta Reward you earn carries into the full game at launch. See the full list in our MW4 beta rewards guide.
Warzone joins in Weekend 2
The big one: Call of Duty Warzone joins the Modern Warfare 4 beta in Weekend 2, bringing Resurgence to a brand-new map called Zodiac. It is the first time Warzone has ever been playable in an open beta. Full breakdown in our MW4 Warzone beta: Resurgence and the new Zodiac map guide.
More to try: Campaign, Mobility Course, Gunny and Apex Attachments
Weekend 2 also carries the rest of the beta's firsts: a playable Campaign mission ("Entrenched"), the Mobility Course for MW4's new movement system, Gunny recommending weapon builds from your unlocked attachments, and Apex Attachments, the max-level unlocks that add a unique effect and can change how a gun behaves.
