How to Unlock Orion Reforged in MW4 (Multiplayer Mastery Camo)

Orion Reforged is one of the three Multiplayer mastery camos in Modern Warfare 4. Orion was the final Multiplayer camo in Modern Warfare 2 (2022), and the name returns here with a new design.

Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026. This page gets the real challenges the day Activision publishes them.

What is confirmed about Orion Reforged

• It is one of three Multiplayer mastery camos in Modern Warfare 4.
• The name comes from the official MW4 camo reveal.
• MW4 runs shared camo progression across Multiplayer, Warzone and DMZ, so weapon work in one mode feeds the others.
• There is a separate set of four Pyroclast camos on top of the nine mastery camos, covered in MW4 weapon prestige.

What is not announced yet

Three things, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing:

• The challenges. No kill counts, no weapon requirements, no mode restrictions have been published.
• The order. Which of the three camos in a mode is the top one, and what sits below it, is not confirmed.
• Whether the old rules apply. MW4 uses shared camo progression across Multiplayer, Warzone and DMZ, which is not how older games worked, so the usual assumptions may not transfer.

Orion was the end of the line in MW2 (2022)

In MW2 (2022) Orion was the camo you finished with, after Gold, Platinum and Polyatomic on the whole roster. It was weeks of work for most players. Whether Orion Reforged sits at the top of MW4's Multiplayer set or under Mercurial Drift is not confirmed, so anyone telling you the exact order right now is guessing.

How to get ready before launch

The old Orion grind punished players who only used two guns. If MW4 repeats that, the useful prep is playing weapons you normally avoid, because those are the ones that stall the grind at the end.

Two things worth doing in the first week either way:

• Hoard your 2XP tokens. Infinity Ward confirmed in the Ward Room that tokens now only burn during match time instead of real time, which makes them worth far more than in previous games.
• Pick your modes early. Weapon leveling is the part of every camo grind that never changes, and the levels you bring into the challenges are levels you do not grind twice.
• Decide where you will grind. Camo challenges are exactly what MW4 bot lobbies are for: private matches we host and fill with our own bots, so you work through the challenges without a full public lobby fighting back.
