How Verge is expected to unlock

Weapon prestige in Modern Warfare 4 is not officially confirmed yet, and Activision hasn't said whether weapon prestige or player prestige unlocks the Pyroclast set. We expect it to work like Modern Warfare 3: once a gun is at max level, its weapon XP keeps counting toward the prestige camos without resetting the gun. In MW3 the second camo took another 200,000 weapon XP after the first 150,000, which would put Verge at 350,000 past max level. Read that as expected, not confirmed. Pre-order and how it's played

Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, and pre-orders go into the launch-week queue. Officially, the Apex Attachment is the final reward for maxing out a weapon. Until Activision confirms the system we go by the MW3 model, and adjust or refund your order in full if MW4 differs.

What was the second weapon prestige camo in MW3?

Molten Obsidian. In Modern Warfare 3 a maxed gun unlocked One Trick at 150,000 weapon XP, then Molten Obsidian after another 200,000, then Mercury and Constellation's End. If MW4 follows that model, Pyroclast Verge takes Molten Obsidian's slot at 350,000 weapon XP past max level in total. That's our expectation, not a confirmed MW4 requirement.

What if my gun isn't max level yet, or I already have some XP?

Guns below max get leveled to max first inside the same order, Apex Attachment included. If a gun is already maxed, enter its last Pyroclast step and its weapon XP toward the next step, and the part you have already earned comes off that step. Your booster checks it in game before starting.

When does my order start?

Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, and pre-orders start at launch.
